Hi, I’m Ella, and this is my little corner of the internet 🙂
When I’m not working full-time, I spend my spare time reading, writing, and talking about stories in all their forms. I’ve always been drawn to the way books, films, and television shape how we see the world and how we see ourselves.
I studied Film and Media at undergraduate level after developing an interest in film studies during college, and later completed a master’s degree in PR and Strategic Communications. I love dissecting things, whether it’s a marketing campaign and what the company thought it would achieve, or a film’s deeper meaning and how it connects with audiences.
My tastes are fairly broad. I love thrillers, mysteries, and horror books, but I’m not much of a horror film fan. I prefer period pieces, superhero and comic book films, comedies, and dramas. I don’t think a film or television show has to be serious to be good. Sometimes the most enjoyable ones are the fun, imperfect, or even slightly chaotic ones. That said, I think film can be a powerful way to explore serious subjects too.
One of my favourite directors is Wes Anderson. I love his striking aesthetics and the sense of whimsy in his worlds. Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of my all-time favourite films. As for books, I don’t really have a single favourite author, but I enjoy a lot of Stephen King’s work, and I’ll always have a soft spot for Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games series (I’m very excited about the new film).
Outside of media, I’m passionate about slow living and careful consumption. I try to choose quality over quantity, make space for quiet moments, and appreciate small joys. I journal, take long walks, and spend time with my German Shepherd, Freya. She’s a rescue and quite small for her breed. People often mistake her for a puppy, despite her being at least 6 years old. I don’t always correct people, though, sometimes it’s easier to go along with it.

This blog is my creative outlet. It’s a space where I can write about films, television, books, and cultural moments that capture my attention. Whether it’s a comfort watch, a clever campaign, or a story that lingers, I like exploring what makes it work, why it resonates, and what it says about the world around us.
